From a young age, I have always had an interest in photography. When I was child, my parents gave me their old Nikon EM 35mm film camera that I used to take photos of random things around the house, and family members.
While I have always enjoyed taking photos, it was only after coming out of a long-term relationship in early-2016 that I decided to really invest time and energy into photography. I began walking around San Francisco in my spare time taking photos of random things I'd see. I would look at the map, pick a random neighborhood, and go there. It was a great way to get my mind off of my breakup, further explore the city, and get exercise! I used my iPhone for a while but ultimately upgraded to a Nikon DSLR.
It was at that time that I opened my Instagram account and began sharing my San Francisco photos with the world.
As a third-generation San Franciscan, I thought that I knew the city like the back of my hand. But it was while walking around and taking photos of San Francisco that I realized I had so much more to discover - and still do.
It didn't take long for me to discover my true passions: San Francisco and photography. Each day I recognize that I am incredibly fortunate to call San Francisco home: One of the most beautiful and photogenic cities in the world. And being able to photograph such a beautiful city is a photographer's dream come true.
My photography has led to a number of opportunities that I wouldn't have otherwise had: Meeting and working with amazing people, collaborating with local brands, and seeing aspects of San Francisco that I hadn't seen before.
Thank you for being a part of my photographic journey.
